Volunteer Tutors

Who are English B'Yachad volunteers?

The majority of English B’Yachad volunteer tutors are retired Jewish professionals. Most of them reside in the United States and Canada. However, since volunteers work remotely, they can reside anywhere.

English B'Yachad tutors represent a wide range of professions.

Our volunteers have worked in fields such as such as business, healthcare, law, education, and the arts. This rich professional diversity allows us to thoughtfully pair mentors with students. Our students also bring varying backgrounds and needs to the program.

Do volunteers need Hebrew or teaching experience to tutor?

No. Such skills are not required. However, if you do have these skills, there are students who will benefit from your knowledge and experience.

English B'Yachad volunteers share a unique camaraderie.

When tutors join our monthly online Tutor Talks, they find a community that shares:

  • a love of Israel

  • a desire to make a difference

  • the willingness to give time to help others
